Launch date confirmed and other tidbits

Carlos Icaza, Ansca Mobile
Phew!
And that’s just for starters. We have had one hell of a crazy development cycle, and we have achieved quite a few internal milestones and feature implementations that will make our Corona SDK that much more enjoyable to use (especially for Android development!).
As you all know from my previous blogpost, we got derailed quite a bit on meeting our internal schedule recently. After further review of where we were in the dev cycle, we decided to delay the bits for a few weeks. Well, today, am happy to announce that the launch date for the next Corona SDK is scheduled for August 2.
There is a slew of new features going into Corona, including the increase in Android build speeds, OpenFeint for Android, the new Corona UI (available now for everyone, not just subscribers to ourĀ Daily Builds), and some other new features that I will leave out of this brief update — all of which, nonetheless, will have a big impact in your app development endeavors!
At the moment, we are having a soft-launch to our partners who, in a few short days, will be receiving the bits to test out and provide us with feedback. Don’t worry, they are under NDA and can’t disclose the hot new features — but their feedback will be invaluable to help us get rid of any bugs or flow issues so that the rest of our users don’t have any issues or hassle when the product officially launches.
I have been tweeting hints left and right about the new features, and Walter and I are confident that this new release can and will take your app development to new “heights.” (another hint!)
Having said this and having been out of the office for a full week, I need to get back to work, catch up on my emails, and sync up with my team to make sure we are indeed on track to the August 2 “launch” date (hinting quotes!).

Will this still be released if Congress fails to raise the debt ceiling by that day?
Today is August 5th and not news about this, and daily builds continue not releaded.
Any news?
cos there have not been daily builds – 591 is the latest and can be found in the regular download section.

It was exciting to hear that the build 591 includes the inmobi ads, but it does not work for iOS. It crashes all the times in iOS. Pleeeeeeeeease fix the crash issue caused by ads.hide(). I have waited for the ads for iOS for long long long time (many months). I am still waiting…
