Got a chart-topper? Don’t forget to tell us!
Back when we first started, new Corona-made apps created by the Corona Community were an office-stopping affair. Everything would grind to a halt as we “ooh’ed” and “ahh’ed” over the latest app that one of our users had created using our SDK. This would happen pretty much every time a new app was submitted using Corona — which was about once every two weeks or so. Thus, it wasn’t very hard keeping track of those relatively few apps’ performance on the App Store charts.
But now, we have an avalanche of Corona-made apps being built every week, and we can’t possibly keep track of them all. But that doesn’t mean we have to stop, we’ll simply just need your help with keeping track of your app’s performance!
It’s simple, really…
Whenever your app reaches a certain ranking (let’s say, inside the Top 50) on any given App Store/Android Market/Nook Apps chart, take a screenshot of it like this:
(if you got the Photoshop/Paint skillz, highlight it too!)

Then, post the photo to your Twitter account with the @ansca tag and a mention of “Corona SDK” in your tweet, like this:
Our app Compass (made with @ansca‘s Corona SDK) just hit #1 on the Navigation chart in the U.S. iPad App Store. HOORAY!!!
Of course, substitute out the bolded words with your own app’s name and whatever category and country it charted in (accuracy is important!). If you do all that, we’ll see your tweet and immediately retweet it for our 2000+ followers to see, which will even further increase your publicity.
You guys have been incredibly good to us, and we’re trying to keep up with being equally good to you… And there’s no reason why we should stop telling the whole world about how awesome your apps are!
Also, if you want to share with me privately the number of downloads your apps have gotten that would be great. Send me in complete confidentiality the number of downloads you have gotten. This will help me put the right resources to help your apps in co-marketing, promotions, including your app in our newsletter, help you in writing a press release, maybe some new platforms, who knows. But by helping me with this data, I will make sure to put the right resources to help drive overall downloads for your apps.
You all know my email “cicaza AT anscamobile DOT com”
Thanks
Carlos
Well, looks like we are over the 13,000,000 download mark for Corona based apps on the wild thanks to some of you who have provided me with data.
Now, lets see if I get more numbers from you to cross the 20,000,000 mark. I know we can and we will do what we can to make that happen. Go team !
Thank you !!
Carlos
a Compass App in top 10, would that give corona team intensive to fix the compass api to support geometric north on android? (it is natively supported).
